"To me, despair is when you really want to change something and you can't seem to do it.  I was feeling like this after my 3rd kid. I don't know if it was because I am getting older, or less sleep, or just mentally maxed out but I could not seem to get in a good flow with my nutrition, and my body wasn't as forgiving me the way it used to. So, I talked to Erin and decided to do the online group challenge. What makes it so powerful is that it is multidimensional. Erin knows her stuff. She has done the research and walks the walk. She give you all of the information you need from a specific plan for your body, to daily videos and book recommendations. What was maybe the missing link for me was the emotional support the group gives. If eating and nutrition were strictly cognitive, I think we would have cracked the code already. But since we are emotional people who like pleasure and connection, I have to find a way to experience pleasure and deal with pain in a way that bring me closer to my goals. I have plenty of moments of motivation--but I need help when my motivation fails me. It has been very powerful to connect with like-minded people who will not judge, but will always influence for good. Not only that, but being someone's partner give you a chance to be a good influence on them and starts a cycle of motivation. I have never been able to lose weight in the past when I've tried. I was surprised how fast my body seems to love what I was giving it and my body started changing. The formula works--it's just a matter of committing to it. I can honestly say that I have made more progress in the three months I've been working with Erin than I have my entire life yo-yo dieting!  At some point in my life, I just stopped caring about me and just let myself go. I’d eat to comfort myself and being 41, losing weight takes a lot of work. The more I gained the more I ate, and my solution was to just get bigger clothes. I’ve struggled with my weight my entire life, but I had reached my max. I weighed the most I ever had and I felt even worse. My dear friend told me about this group a while back but at the time, I wasn’t ready. Then, everything came full circle. I was watching my life pass right in front of me because of my weight. It took my Dr. telling me that I HAD to start exercising and I HAD to lose weight. I decided it was time to take back my life. I had to put the pizza down and put me first. That’s when I decided to really commit and join this group. Erin called me when I first joined and explained everything to me. My first thought (like always) was, I can’t do this. Wait, what? I hadn’t even started yet and I was already telling myself I was going to give up. Well, here I am, three months in and still going! It’s not just a diet. It’s a lifestyle change forever. Yes, there are days when I want to give up and eat pizza, but I always have the support from this group! My biggest success is because Erin has given the tools I need to succeed, as well as the support from the group! I’m also learning how to fuel my body with what it needs, not just crap. I feel so much better already and I feel healthy. I have a long way to go, but because of Erin, I know I can do it!
